Al Habtoor Motors, the official distributor of Mitsubishi in the UAE, surprised motoring enthusiasts with the regional launch of three new SUV models at the 15th edition of the Dubai International Motor Show. Paving the way for a new era of sustainable mobility, Outlander Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) made its Middle East debut, alongside the 2020 ASX and Montero Sport. The three new models embody the expression of Mitsubishi Motor Corporation’s (MMC) newly introduced global tagline “Drive your Ambition”.

The New Outlander PHEV: Today, in an effort to meet global environmental challenges, Mitsubishi’s flagship Outlander PHEV made its debut in the Middle East. The PHEV technology has delivered important breakthroughs in cruising range. The Outlander PHEV contributed to fewer CO2 emissions and offers customers a silent drive. Until this moment, the Outlander PHEV is Europe’s best-selling plug-in hybrid vehicle with more than 100,000 units sold across Europe. The cumulative sales of over 200,000 units worldwide make the Outlander PHEV the world’s best-selling PHEV SUV.

The Outlander PHEV features three different driving modes including NORMAL, 4WD LOCK and a SPORT mode which give the driver more direct control for greater driving pleasure on winding roads. The exterior of the car enjoys LED tech-look headlamps, rectangular front fog lamp bezels, substantial front grille with the Dynamic Shield visual identity, and a front center cover skid plate. The elaborate multi-spoke two-tone design of the new 18-inch alloy wheels, and the large rear spoiler give the car a sharper and more sophisticated look.

The New 2020 ASX: Designed for the city, the versatile compact SUV is perfect for everyday use as well as exciting adventures. The ASX enjoys excellent handling and easy drivability, thanks to its lightweight and compact body.

Available in both two and four-wheel-drive variants, the ASX is powered by a 2.0L MIVEC 16-valve engine mated to an INVECS -III CVT with 6-speed Sports Mode. The ASX also delivers reassurance and safety, with features such as RISE impact safety body and a Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM) braking system.

Bringing an evolution to Mitsubishi’s Dynamic Shield front design concept, the bumper embraces a central protective shape from both sides and the squared horizontal and vertical line treatment of the grille and the skid plate under the bumper express strength and toughness. The new styling makes the hood deeper, adding to the presence projected by the front end.

The Smartphone-link Display Audio (SDA) has seen several improvements and now offers more advanced connectivity. The 8” SDA can now display real-time traffic information which can be accessed by connecting it to the internet using a smart phone.

The New 2020 Montero Sport: Mid-size SUV, the new Montero Sport adopts a more refined, powerful appearance, complemented with a refreshed interior that delivers quality and comfort. Overall enhanced cabin technology with newly adopted easy-to-read 8-inch color LCD meter, and a Power Tailgate that allows users to open and close the tailgate with a smartphone app.

Mitsubishi’s signature Dynamic Shield front view design concept has further evolved on the new Montero Sport, securing good visibility, emphasizing the sense of wideness with the headlights continuing from the front grille and the combination lamps at the bumper corners. The higher hood of the vehicle exhibits a deeper front face, while a more solid, powerful chrome part design projects a more refined, sophisticated appearance.

The Montero Sport’s refreshed floor console and soft padded interior door handles enhance the overall interior look with quality and comfort. The storage tray sits under the floor console and is accessible from both left and right sides. New AC power outlet added on the existing USB plug at the console rear panel to improve usability for all passengers.

Enhanced safety features include the addition of Lane Change Assist (LCA) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) functions. The new Montero Sport retains the Super-Select 4WD-II system that delivers optimal traction for all surfaces and confidence-inspiring handling characteristics. The off-road mode with a newly designed switch on 4WD models elevates all-terrain performance and self-extraction capability through the integrated control of engine output, transmission settings and brake power
