Saudi Arabia’s CEER Unveils EXOBOT Electric Sedan and SUV

Saudi Arabia’s first automotive brand enters a new era with locally designed high-performance electric vehicles

Saudi Arabia’s automotive ambitions have taken a major step forward with CEER unveiling the EXOBOT electric sedan and SUV, the first flagship vehicles from the Kingdom’s national automotive company. The models were officially revealed on September 21 and are expected to go on sale in Saudi Arabia in early 2027.

The launch comes as the Middle East becomes increasingly important to the global automotive industry. Recent regional launches covered by CarBook Magazine include the Nissan Tekton’s arrival in the Middle East, while manufacturers are simultaneously investing heavily in electrification, connected vehicles and advanced automotive technology.

Serious Electric Performance

The EXOBOT First Edition uses a tri-motor all-wheel-drive electric powertrain producing 850 horsepower and 1,000 Nm of torque.

According to CEER’s official EXOBOT specifications, the sedan can accelerate from 0–100 km/h in 2.6 seconds, while the SUV completes the same sprint in 2.9 seconds.

A 112 kWh battery provides an estimated NEDC driving range of up to 670 km for the sedan and 560 km for the SUV. Its 800-volt electrical architecture also supports DC charging from 10% to 80% in under 30 minutes.

This focus on performance and technology reflects a wider industry trend. As seen with the recently updated Volvo XC40, EX40 and EC40, manufacturers are increasingly competing through software, digital interfaces, advanced safety systems and electrified powertrains rather than mechanical performance alone.

Developed for Saudi Arabia and the Region

One of the most interesting aspects of EXOBOT is its regional identity. CEER describes the vehicle as “Born in Saudi Arabia”, with the company developing its first models around the needs of customers in the Kingdom and wider region.

The exterior introduces several distinctive elements, while the cabin places significant emphasis on digital technology and connectivity.

This approach is particularly relevant in Gulf markets, where high temperatures and demanding driving conditions can influence vehicle and battery performance.

The EXOBOT therefore represents more than simply another electric vehicle entering an increasingly crowded market. It is also part of Saudi Arabia’s attempt to establish its own automotive manufacturing ecosystem.

Building a Saudi Automotive Industry

CEER is a joint venture between Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) and Foxconn. Reuters reports that Foxconn has contributed electrical architecture, while BMW has provided engineering support. The company is also building relationships with international automotive suppliers as it develops local production capabilities.

Reuters reports that EXOBOT sales are expected to begin in Saudi Arabia in early 2027, with CEER planning five additional mainstream models between 2028 and 2030.

CEER also intends eventually to offer plug-in hybrid and combustion-engine vehicles alongside its fully electric models, allowing the company to respond to changing customer demand.

That broader strategy arrives as premium and technology-focused vehicles continue entering Gulf markets. The recent Li Auto L9 launch in the UAE is another indication of how quickly the regional automotive landscape is expanding.

For Saudi Arabia, however, EXOBOT carries additional significance. It represents an effort to move beyond being primarily a major market for imported vehicles and toward becoming a centre for automotive design, engineering and manufacturing.

With its combination of 850 hp performance, long-range electric capability, advanced technology and Saudi production, EXOBOT gives CEER an ambitious starting point as the company prepares to enter the market in 2027.
